Building young musicians, one note at a time.

Fees & Payment Policy

Welcome to R-BIAL Prep’s Music Academy! We are proud to feature an elite faculty of master educators, active stage performers, international touring artists, and Grammy-nominated musicians.

R-BIAL Prep’s Music Academy does not charge general tuition. Instead, learners sign up directly with a music instructor for private lessons. Below you will find detailed information regarding enrollment fees, lesson options, travel rates, and studio policies.

1. Enrollment Fee & Fee Waivers
  • Standard Enrollment Fee: A one-time $100 enrollment fee per student is due upon onboarding to cover administrative setup, digital portal integration, and sheet music licensing.

  • Fee Waiver Application: We believe music education should be accessible. Families in need of financial assistance may apply for an Enrollment Fee Waiver during the registration process. Please contact administration for application details.

2. Private Lesson Rates & Options

Learners enroll directly with an instructor for 1-on-1 private lessons. Standard lesson sessions range from 30 minutes to 60 minutes. Additional lesson time beyond 60 minutes may be requested for an additional fee.

Lesson rates reflect each instructor's professional credentials, advanced degrees, and specialized background:

  • 30-Minute Private Lesson: Base instruction rate starts at $50 per session.

  • 60-Minute Private Lesson: Base instruction rate starts at $100 per session.

  • Extended Lessons: Additional time beyond 60 minutes can be scheduled upon request for an additional prorated fee.

Note: Base rates represent minimum starting fees. Please check directly with your assigned instructor for their exact fee structure and schedule.

3. What Is Included with Your Lesson Signup

When you sign up for private lessons with an R-BIAL Prep Music Academy instructor, your fee includes full access to our academy tools and resources at no additional charge:

  • 1-on-1 Private Instruction: Direct live instruction with industry-leading experts, international performers, and award-winning educators.

  • Google Classroom Hub Access: Full membership to our digital learning portal, including:

  • Downloadable sheet music and practice workbooks.

  • Music theory, scoring, and composition materials.

  • Video tutorial archives and audio accompaniment tracks.

  • Direct instructor communication and assignment feedback between lessons.

  • Performance Opportunities: Eligibility for virtual showcases, studio recitals, and masterclasses.

4. In-Home Private Lessons & Travel Fees

For families requesting face-to-face instruction in their home, an additional travel fee is assessed per session to cover transit time and travel expenses.

Travel fees are calculated as whichever amount is greater between the per-mile rate or the zone flat fee:

  • Per-Mile Rate: $0.75 per mile round-trip

  • Flat Zone Rates:

  • Zone 1 (0 – 5 miles): $5 flat fee

  • Zone 2 (5 – 10 miles): $15 flat fee

  • Zone 3 (10 – 15 miles): $30 flat fee

(Example: For an 8-mile trip, $0.75 × 8 = $6.00, but Zone 2 flat fee is $15.00. The travel fee would be $15.00, as it is the greater amount.)

5. Billing Schedule & Terms
  • Payment Terms: Lesson fees are billed directly through your instructor or student portal according to the agreed schedule prior to instruction.

  • Accepted Payment Methods:

  • Credit/Debit Card (via online student portal)

  • Direct Bank Transfer (ACH)

  • Venmo / Zelle / PayPal (depending on instructor setup)

6. Attendance & Cancellation Policy

To ensure consistency and respect our instructors' time, we adhere to the following attendance guidelines:

  1. 24-Hour Notice Required: If a student needs to reschedule a lesson, please notify the instructor at least 24 hours in advance via email or Google Classroom.

  2. Make-Up Lessons: Lessons canceled with at least 24 hours' notice will receive a make-up credit to be used within 60 days. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours' notice or no-shows are non-refundable and forfeit make-up eligibility.

  3. Teacher Cancellations: If an instructor must cancel a session due to illness or emergency, a make-up session will be scheduled or a credit will be applied to the following billing period.

  4. Holiday Schedule: Major holiday closures (e.g., Mardi Gras week, Thanksgiving Day, Winter Break) are factored into the academic calendar, and advance notice will be posted in Google Classroom.
