Accessing Your Classes on Google Classroom

 

Welcome to the new academic year! To ensure smooth communication and easy access to learning materials, all class announcements, lesson schedules, sheet music, scoring materials, assignments, and virtual meeting links will be hosted on Google Classroom.  Google Classroom serves as our central hub, keeping students, families, and instructors connected throughout the program.

 

New to Google Classroom? Here’s How to Get Started

If you or your student are using Google Classroom for the first time, don't worry—getting set up is simple and takes just a few minutes. Follow these step-by-step instructions:

 

Step 1: Locate Your Class Join Codes

Before logging in, open your R-BIAL Prep Admissions Packet. Inside, you will find a dedicated page listing your student's enrolled courses (e.g., Band, Music Theory, Woodwinds, Scoring, etc.) along with a unique 7-character Join Code for each class.

 

Step 2: Access Google Classroom

  • On a Computer: Open a web browser (Google Chrome works best) and navigate to classroom.google.com.

  • On a Tablet or Mobile Device: Download the Google Classroom app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

 

Step 3: Sign In

Sign in using your student’s designated account (or the Google account associated with your R-BIAL Prep enrollment).

 

Step 4: Join Your First Class

  1. On the main Classes dashboard, look for the "+" (plus icon) in the top-right corner of the screen.

  2. Select "Join class."

  3. Type in the Join Code provided in your admissions packet.

  4. Click "Join."

Repeat Step 4 for each course listed in your admissions packet.

 

What to Look For Once You're In

  • Stream Tab: This is where instructors post daily announcements, reminders, and lesson links.

  • Classwork Tab: Here you will find organized folders for music scores, theory worksheets, audio resources, and practice logs.

  • Notifications: We recommend enabling email or app notifications so you never miss an important update from your music instructors!
